I haven’t stopped laughing and crying since ABC flashed “President Elect Barak Obama” on the screen.
There is still Measure 8 and the numbers aren’t done being counted yet. It doesn’t look good, but I hold out hope. Because that is what tonight is all about. Hope. And if it does not go well tonight, if we lose on Measure 8, then I will pick up and start fighting that fight again tomorrow and I will not stop, ever. My grandmother saw women gain the right to vote in her lifetime. Gays and lesbians will gain and keep the right to marry, legally, in mine.
Yes, we can. We can. And we will. Because there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
Tonight proves it.
I will celebrate, and then I will get back to the work at hand.
God bless America.

We live in a new time what Obama can be elected president. Tears fill my eyes and heart with joy. Keep up the fight!
(sorry about Prop 8 – there’s no way my state would allow it to begin with, so I can understand the frustration, believe me.)
