Ok, not really. A helicopter would be pretty cool, though.
I don’t usually throw up pictures of unknitted yarn on the blog, simply because it’s so much more fun to show off when it’s knit and I’m actually partially responsible for whatever wonderful thing it turned into. I feel like I actually had a hand in it that way, and I’m not just riding in and getting a blog post on the coattails of some hardworking designer or dyer out there. But there are some things that are just so squeeful, so amazing, that I have to show them off before I even cast them onto needles. This would be one.
This would be my OMGbirthday present.
OMG. Birthday. Present. Which my sweetie the Screenwriter (best BF EVAR) acquired via some very complicated means, involving several very helpful and generous and kind knitters who don’t know me from Adam, but graciously helped a brother out just because they are knitters and they understand these things. Thanks, you guys. You know who you are, but since I don’t have permission to say who you are and you might prefer to go unnamed anyway, I’m just gonna put it out there and know you’ll get how deep my gratitude goes. That was really stellar of you. I haven’t gotten much past the stage where I’m loving it and petting it and naming it George, but I’m thinking that it is too fabulous to put on my feet. I’m thinking, maybe a scarf.
In other news, we have arrived at the Kitchener portion of the day’s festivities, and I believe I need to fortify myself with something before I begin. Pretty sock, though. Garter rib (I improvised the pattern as I do not own the book) in Pigeonroof Studios superwash merino sock yarn.
Once I get going with the Kitchener stitch, I’m fine. But I seriously require a glance at a tutorial, every. single. time. I do the darn thing. It is just not my strongest point. Eventually, I hope to be able to graft up a toe without looking at the directions. Really.

That is seriously beautiful yarn! Wow. It would make a spectacular ribbon scarf.
Don’t fortify yourself too much. Drunken kitchnering is never pretty…ask me how I know.
And I a kitchner crib sheet copied into the back of my knitting note book and have to follow it everytime I start…like step by step over and over again. Embarassing?
Gorgeous yarn, I could almost reach through the screen and touch it.
I have to look at the Kitchner recipe, too. Even when I did the Mousetrap socks and that was like 200+ sts. Dork.
