I forget how quick it is on a wheel, if you are spinning with intention. While I find my spindles to be kind of relaxing/zoning, the wheel time is definitely a little bit more like work, or at least intensely focused mental space.
But then… it is so worth it when you get things like this…
3 plies of lovingly spun South African Fine that came together into the perfect sock yarn.
It is soft! And pettable! And I made it!
While eventually it is destined to be a pair of socks, for now I will just run my fingers through it and pet it and squeeze it and call it George. And not to rest on my laurels, now I will run back to my wheel for more. I’m halfway through 4 oz of merino/bamboo that is perhaps going to want to be a fractal spun 2 ply worsted (I am practicing spinning thicker yarns for a sweater).
Wheel, it does spin like wind.

Beautiful yarn! Remember a couple of years ago you were so intimidated? Not so any more, congratulations!
Thank you! I’m so tickled by it.
GORGEOUS! I wish I had the problem that I need to ‘teach myself’ to spin thicker.. my default for spinning is about a worsted weight 2 ply. Its fine though because that’s what I most commonly knit with.. but I would love to spin some sock yarn, at least once for a pair of socks for myself.
That couldn’t BE more beautiful! The plying job is amazing!
