(I totally ganked this photo from here, btw, I didn’t take it. Copyright totally to someone else…)
We’re off to Morro Bay! And then up to Berkeley to look at colleges! It should be a fun, whirlwind week. Since most of mah peeps are up in that area, I’m hoping to connect with as many as possible, while still maximizing time with the girlie. Pictures and commentary from the road will be forthcoming, I am quite sure…

Have fun!
Have a great trip with the girly! Enjoy every moment, they will soon go away.
Have lot’s of fun! Call when you are back in the area! BerKely is awesome!!!! Look out for splinters in the old bleachers! Go Bears!
Oh my gosh, I didn’t know you’d be going to Morro Bay! My parents both went to Cal Poly San Luis, and we used to spend every summer in Morro Bay and the SLO area when I was a kid. I could have told you about our favorite places to go … Oh well, it looks like you had a great time!
We had a LOT of fun! We ate at The Galley for dinner and Dorn’s for breakfast. Our sightseeing time was really limited, I am wanting to go back sometime for a longer stay. Maybe without kids.
Morro Bay is one of my favorite places, not only because I spent part of every summer there as a kid! It’s been really built up in the last 10 years, and is a lot more touristy, but there are still a few of the old-style kitschy places around. The Galley is one of the oldies but goodies; we also like the Flying Dutchman on the wharf. We always get fresh smoked salmon and a loaf of sourdough at the fish shop at the end of the wharf, and we sit on one of the benches by the great big anchor on the wharf, and watch the boats while we eat it. I saw signs for a tea shop on the wharf last summer when I was there, but the shop wasn’t open yet. I’m gonna have to go back and see it next year. That will be the first tea shop in town!
If you are in the area for a week or more, San Luis has a really great downtown farmer’s market every week; I think it’s on Thursdays They close off an entire street for something like 6 blocks, and there are live bands, all kinds of stalls, and all the shops along the street are open, too.
