I was surprised he received any punsihment at all! I am happy to see that he got received it, no one should have to go through that kind of fear and abuse.

Chris who? Did what to whom? This is why I don’t have a TV and don’t read the newspapers. Why do I want to know about this? So all I can do is respond on a personal level as well. I’m sorry it happened to you and glad as hell that you got out and stayed out. You are a strong, beautiful and an inspiration.

I work with teens and I’ve been surprised at how blase they seem to be about the whole thing, like it’s no big deal.

Thank you for sharing from your past, it puts things in a different perspective (makes them more personal to me, somehow).

I am sooo sorry that you had to go through such dark times. I agree that something is definetly wrong with the system… and it’s sad to see that there is so much variation in the way people are reprimanded. Hurting ANYONE is wrong, I think we all agree there.

So glad for you that you got out and that you are safe and happy

And have you ever read Gavin De Becker’s “The Gift of Fear”? Fantastic book.
