Only this birthday season is kind of special. It involved pink champagne.
And some truly fabulous decorations.
Because somebody special had 18 candles on her birthday cake!
Okay, that’s actually just ONE candle. But, you know, it was a very small dessert.
Yes that’s right. Miss Em has turned 18. Shortly thereafter all this celebrating had concluded, she hied herself off to Montreal via Air Canada, where, I believe she plans to buy a beer. And some poutine. You don’t have to be 18 to buy poutine in Canada, by the way. Anyone can have poutine.
Whether or not you are the legal drinking age in Canada, one is never too old for birthday toys.
This fabulous little fellow, who you can find at Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles, in Desiree B’s booth, kept both tiara and wand warm until the Birthday Girl woke up. On birthday mornings, you are allowed to sleep in.
It’s hard to believe it, but both of my little chooks are all grown up.
My young ladies are 18 and 21. The Eldest flew down from Portland for a few days to help her sister ring in adulthood. It was a nice visit, though the temps were very warm and everyone was a little bit grumpy and uncomfortable as a result.
18. I don’t believe it.
She will always be my little Pookie. Even though she’s all grown up and eating poutine in Canada.
In honor of this Auspicious Birthday Event, we are totally celebrating with 18% off in the Etsy shop, until the end of August. Because Birthday Season should really be for everyone.

Love those girls’ style! and am always fond of hanging lanterns and lantern shapes. Perfect! Happy Birthday!
