I’m playing along with Art Jewelry Elements earring challenge in 2013! I didn’t sign up for the first 13 week segment officially, because honestly between opening the bead shop, building a website and doing All The Things, I couldn’t really commit to being 100% about it. But, I do like the challenge and so far I’m keeping up. I will probably sign up officially for Round #2.
It’s going to be a really fun way to use up some of the great art jewelry elements in my own stash and perhaps find some designers and artists to carry in the new bead shop at Crafted!

Kristi Bowman copper ammonite focals, with turquoise stones and sterling earwires. I am NOT selling these. I love them so much. I wore them for days after I made them. They may be my new favorite earrings.
Week #1 and #2 were, admittedly, kind of simple. I didn’t work too hard at coming up with anything. I had new turquoise and I had great new copper things to play with, so I paired them up (I admit, I was still in the turquoise zone from the Oscar bags) for something quick and easy. The next two weeks (they do a reveal every 2 weeks) are going to be oh so much more creative! Because this challenge, it’s all about the fun!

Yet more Patricia Healey copper. These sold about 5 minutes after I put them out in the shop at Crafted, and to one of my favorite customers, too!
I’m working on something kind of fun for Week 3 – raku art glass from Nadin Sandler is playing a focal role!
And speaking of fun… you know the One Word necklaces we’ve got in the shop right now? Well I got a really fun order last week. A very lovely customer of mine ordered this stamped with her favorite swear and beaded with her favorite gemstones. I was delighted to make it. It’s an elegant and whimsical take on her favorite bad word and while I certainly HOPE it isn’t the theme for her year, I do hope she has fun wearing it!

Your creativity just gets better and better!
Loving it all.
