Ok, I only made it to week 7 this round. Plan to catch up next week and do two. It’s been a heck of a week!
These fun enameled copper round beads reminded me of Chinese lanterns! I got them at Pasadena Bead and Design, from a phenomenally new-to-me artist whose work that I want to eventually have in my new bead shop down at Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles. Jan Petek! She’s got fantastic stuff… Such beautiful colors and you can see on the round beads, she manages these subtle but wonderful ranges of color in the same pieces. Not flat, but gorgeous shifts from one to the other. I just loved her enamel work so much. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to offer her stunning components one day, as we slowly add more artists to the shop. She was at the bead show with a friend who made little lampworked glass cat beads! You know I got one, right?
Being on a budget sucks, btw, because you can’t have everything you want RIGHT NOW. Ya know?
I paired them with rounds (related, but not matchy) and some enameled bead caps from Nadin Art Glass. A little SWarovski, et viola, light and swingy dangles!
Aaaaand then the sh*t hit the fan and my week exploded and my fibro flared and I never made it to week 8′s pair. Next reveal, 3 pairs, I promise! That’s kind of why this post is a little short, I’m low on spoons right now.
You can see this week’s reveal of the AJE challenge here, and hoppity around to see the other jewelry artists doing this challenge!
I feel really sad because WordPress is not playing nicely with Blogger and there are some posts I am loving but can’t comment on. Like, Kumi Fisher‘s gorgeous earrings and her sweet poodle. Also, Kristi Bowman’s Drops of Jupiter earrings are amazing. If you’re on Blogger and don’t allow people to comment with name/url, I can’t tell you how much I love your work, but please know, I’m reading every post and loving it all!

Great earrings!
Thank you!
I really love these. Totally something I would wear.
<3 thank you!
Beautiful earring design. Love the enameling!
