I’ve noticed lately that some of the art bloggers I follow have an sweet little weekly feature called “Tea on Tuesday” where they post something tea related, pretty pictures, recipes, what have you. Some post every week, some post less often, but I’ve been enjoying the juxtaposition of tea and art in my weekly reading. I thought I’d let y’all know that some of these folks were out there.
It’s the brainchild of the blogger at Art In Red Wagons and you can read all about it, as well as find links to some of the folks participating at this page here.
I found some tea blogs I hadn’t seen before, so that was nice.
I’m also really excited to have discovered Teahouse Studio, which looks to be opening up soon (right now there is only a link to a mailing list on their page) and from what I can tell, is a combination teahouse and art studio – a place where you can go to create AND drink tea and take classes and workshops and the like. If I’m wrong, let me know, but if I’m right, wow what a genius idea!
I mean, not everyone has turned their dining room into an art studio and some people keep actual china in their china cabinets instead of Golden Acrylics, needlenose pliers and liver of sulfer. I am guessing that with all the paint, Teahouse Studio probably will not feature a lot of finger food or fine china, but I bet it’ll be chock full o’ fun and they’ll come up with a creative way to dovetail art and tea drinking. If you live in the Bay Area (lucky, lucky you) you might want to check it out.
Last but hardly least, this recipe for orange cake looks so good, I think I am baking some today for my own Tea On Tuesday. Also because our CSA box comes tomorrow and I’ve got a ginormous bag of oranges I need to use up before it gets here. I thought I’d be nice and share the love.
Happy Tea-uesday, y’all! ❤
